Since 2015, Hack the Gap has been working to amplify the voices and cultivate the talents of women and non-binary people in tech.
Hack the Gap hosts hackathons for women and non-binary individuals in an accessible, approachable, positive environment—environments that are unfortunately not always the norm for women and non-binary people in tech careers.
gish&co. proudly supports Hack the Gap with marketing counsel and onsite social media services, helping tell the stories about these amazing hackers and elevate their visibility.
Social media support
gish&co. supports Hack the Gap with pre-event engagement and promotion strategy for their social channels, as well as covering the event live during the weekend all-hackathon-long. Social media serves as a critical storytelling tool, to help change the narrative about the so-called “pipeline problem” in tech, and elevate the visibility of the incredible participants.
Public-facing marketing counsel
On the second day of the hackathon, the public is invited in to see demos from each of the teams. gish&co. supports the Hack the Gap team in raising general community awareness about demo day, and promoting ticket sales via email and social media channels.
Sample work

“Working with gish&co. is refreshing and inspiring. Their energy is just what we needed for our event—they are organized and efficient, leaving me (the organizer) so much more time to focus on everything else.
The team is purpose-driven, smart, engaged, thoughtful and fun. Not only did gish&co. manage all of our social media, but they left us with many reusable materials and tools that we can continue to use. And most importantly, our attendees could see a reflection of themselves at the event and on social. This is, no doubt, a HUGE benefit in what we are trying to give our attendees—recognition, self-assurance and connection.”
